MD Anderson Update
Jeff and I went down to MD Anderson this last week and got some great news. There is no evidence of disease (NED). Jeff has noticed with the height measuring at doctor appointments that he is shrinking. We talked to the doctors at MD Anderson about the pain and Dr. Eng suggested looking into an orthopedic surgeon. We were not as impressed with the doctor this time as she was short and in a hurry after we had been waiting about two hours past our scheduled appointment time.
Jeff still has the spots on his lungs, but if there is no change in them for two years they will be considered non-cancerous. The spots were originally found October 2004 at MD Anderson.
Another good word was "remission." This is the first time that a doctor has mentioned this. A person is considered in remission if they are NED five years from the last chemo treatment. Of course they will not say that Jeff is cancer free, but the NED term is good enough for now. Here is the Web site for MD Anderson www.mdanderson.org/.
Hope this message finds all of you well during the holiday season.
-Abby
